About Us
The Atlanta Jewish Times is a weekly newspaper focusing on Jewish Atlanta. Every issue includes feature stories, event listings, lifecycles announcements, and community directories.
The paper was originally founded in 1925 as The Southern Israelite. The name was changed shortly after Kansas City-based Sun Publications, Inc. purchased the paper in 1986.
Ownership was transferred to Charles Buerger, his son Andrew, and then Detroit-based Jewish Renaissance Media before Andrew Adler, Editor & Publisher, bought the publication in April 2009.
After several years at Perimeter Center, the paper’s offices moved to Dunwoody Place in November 2009. Today, after more than 85 years as “Your Community Newspaper,” the paper welcomes reader feedback as it continues to strive for improvement.
