Don A. Bloom Don A. Bloom, 82, of Atlanta passed away Sunday morning July 30, at the VA Hospital. The funeral services for Don Bloom were held Tues., Aug. 2, p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta. He died of complications related to cancer. Don was born Feb.18, 1929, in Israel to Lou and Mae Bloom. He leaves behind two daughters, Bambi Bloom and Bonnie Fancher and her husband Gary. He was predeceased by his childhood sweetheart Arline Bloom to whom he was married 60 years; their son, Stephen Bloom; and their daughter, Cheryl Bloom; and Don’s brother, Norton Bloom. Don retired as a buyer from Kessler’s Dept. Stores after many years. Mr. Bloom honorably served the U.S. Marine Corps from Sept. 1946 to Sept. 1948. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and was a well-known, dedicated and award-winning volunteer at the VA hospital and nursing home. He brought smiles to the faces of everyone with his lively sense of humor and quick wit.
