Nance L. Mescon, 54, of Sandy Springs died Fri., July 29, 2011. A graveside service was held Sun., July 31, 2011, at Arlington Memorial Park with Rabbi Fred Reeves officiating. She is survived by her two children, Elizabeth Julia (EJ) Merlin of Los Angeles, Calif., and Ilya Merlin of Charlotte, N.C.; her parents, Michael and Enid Mescon of Atlanta; brother and sister-in law Tim and Lauren Mescon of Columbus, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Jed and Phyllis Mescon of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and five nieces and nephews. A native Atlantan, she graduated from Greenfield Hebrew Academy, the 1st graduating class of Riverwood High School and the University of Alabama-Birmingham. She lived for a number of years in Columbia, S.C., where she worked tirelessly for the Jewish Community Center, and after raising her children she returned home to Atlanta. She was an avid runner, cyclist, a voracious reader, and dog enthusiast. An expert in the real estate industry, she worked as a paralegal for a number of Atlanta firms.
